A Watershed Management Plan (WMP) is a guiding document for use by landowners, governments, planners, and all other stakeholders in a watershed. Its purpose is to identify overall goals for improving or maintaining watershed health, as well as provide recommendations on how to reach those goals. WMPs are not legally binding documents, but they have been shown to be invaluable tools for decision-makers. A well-crafted WMP will integrate environmental, economic, and social concerns of a watershed.
As we work with stakeholders to determine priorities and develop recommendations, the full form of the plan will begin to take shape. Please check back here in the future once a draft is available. You will have the opportunity to review each draft and provide feedback.
